MASUD SAAD SALMAN
MASUD Saad Salman was a master of classical Persian poetry who is admired
for his high imaginative power purity of style, and colourful descriptions.
He wrote poetry in Persian, Arabic and Hindi. His persian Diwan contains
sixteen thousand couplets, in diverse forms. His most moving poems are
the “Habsiyat, the poems composed in captivity. In these poems he
gives expression to his nostalgic longing for Lahore. He was born at Lahore
around 1050 A.D. He held high office at Lahore but was later involved
in trouble due to political vicissitudes, and spent many years in prison.
He cied around 1129 A.D.
